Pregnancy Update

Today I went to my 39 week Dr. Appointment. I was pretty nervous because I knew that I was going to be checked and that the Doctor and I were going to be talking about an induction date (he had told me the week before that he didn't want me going past 40 weeks because of my high blood pressure during the middle of my pregnancy). Anyway, I found out that I'm 1cm dilated, 50% effaced and -3 station (of course). So not very much progress at all but it's something right? My doctor then leaves the room so that I could get changed and makes me wait for another ten minutes. When he opens the door he looks at me and just says, "So, how does Friday night sound?" It took me a couple seconds to really understand what he was asking but when I finally did get it I was so excited! I wasn't expecting him to just come in and tell me a date and I thought for sure I would have to wait until next Tuesday sometime. So Friday night at 8:00 I will head to the hospital where they will give me cytotec and then break my water in the morning! AH!

I have all sorts of emotions running through me right now but mainly I am excited and nervous. It's hard to believe that after nine months of being a walking incubator for this little guy I will finally get to meet him and hold him in my arms! What a wonderful thought!
